Setup Guide

How to Set Up IPTV on an LG Smart TV

LG Smart TVs run webOS — install Smart IPTV from the LG Content Store, then activate your subscription's M3U playlist through the app's companion website using your TV's displayed MAC address.

What you'll need

  • An LG Smart TV (2014 or newer, webOS) connected to Wi-Fi or ethernet
  • Your subscription's M3U playlist link
  • A stable connection of at least 10Mbps

Setup Steps

Open the LG Content Store

Press the Home button and open the Content Store on your LG TV.

Search for Smart IPTV

Search the store for "Smart IPTV" — availability depends on your webOS version.

Install and open the app

Download the app and launch it once installed.

Activate with your subscription details

Activate your M3U playlist via the companion website using your TV's displayed MAC address.

Start watching

Once the channel list loads, select Live TV or VOD to begin streaming.

If Setup Isn't Working on webOS

Older LG models can have a more limited Content Store selection. Connecting a Firestick or Android TV box gives access to a wider range of apps if built-in options don't work well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is LG TV setup different from Samsung?

LG TVs run webOS rather than Tizen, so the Content Store has a different app catalog and activation method than Samsung's Apps store.

What if my LG TV's Content Store doesn't have a working IPTV app?

Connecting a Firestick or Android TV box to an HDMI port gives access to a wider range of IPTV apps than the built-in store offers.
